Manage your notification and reminder settings

Classy sends a set of automated messages on your behalf — booking confirmations, reminders, and post-class follow-ups. You control all of them. You can turn off any message type you don't want to send, set quiet hours so SMS texts don't fire at odd times, and choose how you yourself want to be notified about new bookings, messages, and disputes. Changes take effect immediately and only apply to future messages — anything already scheduled is not affected.

Turn individual notifications on or off

  1. 1Open Settings from your dashboard and choose the Notifications tab.
  2. 2You'll see a list of every automated message type: booking confirmation, 24-hour reminder, 1-hour reminder, post-class follow-up, and others.
  3. 3Toggle any notification off to stop sending it. The toggle affects all future messages of that type — it doesn't cancel anything already queued.
  4. 4Save. Changes take effect immediately for new bookings.

Set quiet hours for SMS

  1. 1Open Settings › Notifications and scroll to the SMS section.
  2. 2Set your Quiet hours start and end time. Messages that would fire during this window are held until quiet hours end.
  3. 3Save. This prevents reminder texts going out at 6am or 11pm even if that's when a trigger would normally fire.

Configure your own notification preferences

  1. 1Open Settings › Notifications and scroll to the Instructor alerts section.
  2. 2Choose whether you want an email or push notification (or both) when a new booking is made, when someone joins the waitlist, when a payment is disputed, or when a message is received from an attendee.
  3. 3Save. You can revisit and adjust these at any time.

Which messages fire automatically

  • Booking confirmation: sent to the attendee immediately after a successful checkout.
  • 24-hour reminder: sent the day before every class with the class details and location.
  • 1-hour reminder (optional): a short same-day nudge — off by default, enable it in Notifications if you want it.
  • Post-class follow-up: sent the day after a class — defaults to a simple thank-you; customise it under Message sequences to add a review request or rebooking link.
  • Reschedule and cancellation notices: sent automatically whenever you reschedule or cancel a class. These cannot be turned off — attendees must always receive these.
  • Waitlist offer: sent to the next person on the waitlist when a seat opens up.
