Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Classy Studio ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. The Service is operated by Classy Studio. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Classy Studio is a platform that helps instructors host in-person classes. Our service includes class scheduling, attendee management, payment processing, and automated communications.

3. User Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

4. Instructors Responsibilities

Instructors using Classy Studio are responsible for:

• Providing accurate class information and pricing
• Delivering classes as advertised
• Handling refunds and cancellations according to their stated policies
• Complying with all applicable local laws and regulations

5. Students Responsibilities

Students using Classy Studio are responsible for:

• Providing accurate contact information
• Arriving on time for scheduled classes
• Following the instructor's cancellation policies

6. Payment Terms

Payments are processed through our secure third-party payment provider (Stripe). Classy Studio does not store credit card information. Refund policies are set by individual instructors and should be reviewed before booking.

Classy Studio charges a 2.9% service fee per paid transaction on every subscription plan. On the Free plan this carries a minimum ($1.00 for class registrations and guest checkouts; $0.30 for add-on purchases); on the Pro and Business plans the 2.9% is a pure percentage with no minimum. Free ($0) transactions are not charged a service fee. Instructors may optionally choose to pass this service fee through to students at checkout instead of absorbing it themselves; this preference is configurable in account settings.

Stripe's standard payment processing fees (currently ~2.9% + 30¢ per successful card charge, subject to Stripe's published rates) are separate from the Classy Studio service fee and are deducted directly by Stripe. Classy Studio does not control Stripe's processing fees and is not responsible for changes Stripe may make to them.

Instructors may optionally enable automatic sales tax / VAT calculation (powered by Stripe Tax) on their checkouts. When enabled, applicable tax is calculated and added at checkout based on the buyer's location and the instructor's own Stripe tax registrations. Instructors are solely responsible for determining whether they are required to collect tax, for registering in the relevant jurisdictions, and for reporting and remitting any tax collected. Classy Studio provides the calculation tooling only and does not file or remit tax on a instructor's behalf. Tax on Classy Studio's own subscription charges to instructors is calculated and collected by Classy Studio where applicable.

7. Intellectual Property

The Classy Studio name, logo, and all related content are the property of Classy Studio. Users retain ownership of their own content but grant Classy Studio a license to display and promote their classes on the platform.

8. Limitation of Liability

Classy Studio is a platform connecting instructors with students. We are not responsible for the quality of classes or disputes between instructors and students. Our liability is limited to the fees paid to Classy Studio for use of the platform.

9. Changes to Terms

We may modify these terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms. We will notify users of significant changes via email.
