Collect custom info from attendees at signup

Just need the quick answer?

See the short version in the FAQ

The standard signup form collects a name, email, and phone number — but often you need more: allergies for a cooking class, experience level for a workshop, an emergency contact for anything physical. Custom registration fields let you ask exactly what you need, make the important questions required, and read every answer without chasing anyone down.

Add a custom question to your registration form

  1. 1Open Settings from your dashboard and choose Registration Form.
  2. 2Click Add field and write the question exactly as attendees should see it (for example, 'Any allergies we should know about?').
  3. 3Pick the field type: Short Text, Long Text, Dropdown, Checkbox, Email, or Phone. For a Dropdown, add the options attendees choose from.
  4. 4Toggle Required on if attendees must answer before they can complete checkout.
  5. 5Save. The question now appears on the signup form for your classes.

Customize fields for a single class

  1. 1Open the class from your dashboard and click Edit.
  2. 2Scroll to the Registration Fields section.
  3. 3Turn account-wide questions on or off for just this class, and add class-only questions that don't belong on every form.
  4. 4Save. Only this class is affected — your default registration form stays as it is.

View and export responses

  1. 1Open the class from your dashboard and scroll to the Attendees list.
  2. 2Click any attendee to see their answers alongside their booking details.
  3. 3For a spreadsheet, export your attendees to CSV from the Data section in Settings — every custom question becomes its own column.

Questions that earn their place

  • Dietary needs or allergies — essential for any class involving food.
  • Experience level as a Dropdown (Beginner / Intermediate / Advanced) helps you plan the session before anyone arrives.
  • 'How did you hear about us?' quietly tells you which marketing is actually working.
  • A Checkbox works well for acknowledgements, like 'I understand this class is 18+.'

Good to know

  • Full Name, Email, Phone, and Notes are built in — custom questions are added on top of them.
  • When one buyer books spots for guests, each guest answers the questions too, so you get complete info for the whole party.
  • Save Required for the questions you genuinely can't run the class without — every extra required field adds a little friction at checkout.
  • Prefer Dropdowns over free text when the answers are predictable; consistent responses are far easier to scan on a busy roster.
