Book a class for a group
Group bookings let one person pay for the whole party in a single checkout — a couple booking a date-night pottery class, a group of friends joining a cocktail workshop, a team doing a corporate team-building session. You don't need to do anything special to enable groups; the public checkout already supports it. Each guest is tracked separately on your roster, so you always know exactly who's attending.
How group checkout works (attendee perspective)
- On the class page, the attendee enters how many people they're bringing (including themselves) before choosing a price option.
- Each extra person is a guest: the buyer fills in a name and any required registration fields for each one.
- The buyer pays a single total covering all seats. They receive one combined confirmation; each guest can also receive their own copy.
- Every person in the party appears on your attendee list individually, each with their own check-in status and QR code.
Add guests to an existing booking (from the dashboard)
- Open the class from your dashboard and scroll to the Attendees list.
- Find the primary attendee and click the Add guest button on their row (you can also do this from Contacts, using the ⋯ menu on their row). It's only offered on a confirmed registration — a waitlisted or cancelled signup holds no spot to share, and a pending one is still mid-checkout.
- Enter the guest's first and last name — those are the only required fields. Email and phone are optional, so leave them blank if the guest doesn't have their own, and tick This guest is a minor for a child.
- Click Add guest. They're added to the same booking and appear on the roster, check-in list, and seating chart. A guest with an email address gets their own confirmation; a guest added without one simply doesn't.
- A guest takes a spot, so the class has to have room — if it's full the add is refused and you'll need to free a spot or raise the capacity first. No payment is taken through this flow, even on a paid class, so use it for comps or anything you've collected separately.
If a class has a seat map
- After entering the number of guests, checkout shows the seat map.
- The buyer picks a seat for each person in the party, one at a time.
- All selected seats are held together until payment is complete.
Good to know
- The class capacity limit applies per seat, not per transaction. A group of four takes four seats — if only two are left, the booking won't go through for a party of four.
- Guests with their own email address receive the same confirmation and reminder as the primary attendee. A guest added without an email — a child, say — simply doesn't get one; everything else about them works the same.
- On check-in day, each person in a group has their own QR code in their confirmation email — scan them individually or find the party by the primary attendee's name.
- If part of a group cancels, each person's refund is handled individually — you can refund one guest without affecting the rest of the party.
