Organise your classes with categories
Categories give your class catalogue structure. On your public page, each category becomes a tab — visitors click the one that interests them instead of scrolling through everything. In your dashboard, categories let you filter your class list, scope discount codes to just one type of class, and compare revenue by category in analytics. Set them up once and assign every new class to the right one as you create it.
Create a category
- Open Classes from your dashboard and click the Categories tab.
- Click New category and give it a clear name that attendees will understand (for example, "Pottery", "Cocktails & drinks", or "Kids classes").
- Add an optional description and choose an accent colour — it's used on the public page tab for that category.
- Save. The category is now available to assign to any class.
Assign a class to a category
- Open the class from your dashboard and click Edit.
- In the Category field, choose the category from the dropdown (or type to search).
- Save. The class now appears under that category tab on your public page and in any dashboard filter that targets the category.
Reorder categories on your public page
- Open Settings and choose the Public Page tab.
- Scroll to the Categories section and drag the category tiles into the order you want.
- Save. Your public page refreshes the tab order immediately.
Tips for using categories well
- Aim for 3–6 categories. Fewer than 3 adds no real value; more than 6 makes the public-page tab bar unwieldy on mobile.
- Name categories for the attendee, not for your internal filing. "Beginners welcome" converts better than "Level 1 curriculum."
- You can restrict a discount code to a single category — useful for running a sale on just one type of class without discounting everything.
- Analytics lets you compare revenue and fill rate by category, which quickly reveals which class types are carrying your business and which need more promotion.
